City Tour Cusco 5½ hrs. aprox.
Cusco is a beautiful city located in southern Peru, at an altitude of approximately 3,400 meters above sea level. It is considered the capital of the Inca Empire and has been recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, both culturally and naturally. Famous for its rich cultural, historical, and architectural heritage, it is known as the Archaeological Capital of the Americas and the Navel of the World. Its Inca ruins are remarkably well-preserved.
Between 1:20 and 1:45 PM, visitors are picked up from their hotels to begin a guided tour of downtown Cusco. We will visit the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, the Temple of the Sun (Qoricancha), and then head to the ruins of Sacsayhuamán, Qenqo, Puca Pucara, and Tambomachay, as well as a local artisan market. Around 6:30 PM, we will return to Cusco, arriving at the Plaza San Francisco area.
