Day 01: Uyuni – Salar – Isla del Pescado – San Juan
The day before the tour, at 7:30 p.m., you will be transferred from your hotel in downtown La Paz, and at 8:00 p.m. the bus will depart for Uyuni, with an expected arrival time of 5:00 a.m. There, the local operator will meet you at the bus station, provide you with details of the tour, and you can have breakfast on your own.
The tour will begin at 10:00 a.m. with passenger pick-up in Uyuni, followed by boarding a 4x4 vehicle to head to the vast salt flats. First, we'll visit the train cemetery, where old locomotives that were key to Bolivia's industrialization are located, and we'll also explore Colchani, a town near the salt flats.
Later, we'll head to the salt hotel or the local museum, where we'll enjoy lunch. Then we'll arrive at Incahuasi, known as Fish Island, located in the middle of the salt flats, where giant cacti over 10 meters tall rise up, and from the summit, you can admire a breathtaking landscape.
In the afternoon, we will visit the community of San Juan, where we will spend the night in family homes.
Day 02: San Juan – Lagunas – Laguna Colorada
After breakfast, we'll continue towards Laguna Colorada, passing by the active Ollague volcano and the Cañapa, Hedionda, Chiarcota, and Honda lagoons, home to flamingos. At midday, we'll stop for lunch, and in the afternoon we'll continue our journey through the Siloli Desert, where we'll admire the rock formation known as the Stone Tree.
As evening falls, we'll arrive at Laguna Colorada, located in the Eduardo Avaroa Andean Fauna National Park. We'll spend the night in a simple, shared lodge, which is the only accommodation available.
Day 03: Laguna Colorada – Laguna Verde – Uyuni
On the third day, we'll start very early, at 5:00 a.m., to admire the geysers and fumaroles of the volcanic area known as "Sol de Mañana" (Morning Sun). Then we'll visit the Polques hot springs, where we'll have breakfast before heading to the White and Green Lagoons, located at the foot of the Licancabur volcano, at an altitude of 4,350 meters, where the green color of the water is due to its high magnesium content.
After visiting the lagoons, we will return to Uyuni, stopping for lunch and continuing the journey through the Valley of the Rocks and the towns of Villa Alota, Kulpinaka and San Cristóbal.
We will arrive in Uyuni at approximately 6:00 p.m., and the presentation will take place at the bus station at 7:30 p.m.
