Puno – Chullpas de Sillustani ½ día
The archaeological site of Sillustani (the funerary towers) is located on a plateau of the high plateau, surrounded by the beautiful Umayo lagoon, 33 km northwest of the city of Puno. It is one of the most important necropolises in the Andean culture.
It is notable for its enormous funerary towers, called "chullpas", which defy the laws of gravity and balance, a feature that makes them unique on the continent, built by the Kollas and Incas to bury their dead.
NOTE: This excursion can be done on the way to the airport or from Juliaca Airport to Puno. The departure time is adjusted to the flight schedule.
